Progress
We are moving down the road to eventual discharge. Hunter was moved out of ICU yesterday into a regular room. Almost everything is out of him now. All he has left are two IVs, a feeding tube, and he's still on a little oxygen. He is doing well on the oxygen so they said he would probably be off that last night as well as one of the IVs taken out so when we get there today he should hopefully have one IV and the feeding tube left. We're not sure when, but they will need to have him pass a swallow test soon since being on a respirator can make babies forget how to eat without inhaling anything. If he passes, the feeding tube can come out and he can start eating from a bottle. If he does not pass, he will have to come home with the feeding tube. It seems like Tricia and I have all the work left to do now in order to be discharged though. We have to pass a CPR training, learn how to give the Lovenox shots, and we have to "room-in" for 24 hours to demonstrate we can take care of him on our own. We hope to be home sometime this weekend though if things continue to go well. I forgot to mention the clot. It has not changed in size at all, but they are not too concerned about it. As long as it stays put it will be fine.
