The clot thickens

So we found out today that Hunter has a blood clot in his right atrium, a fairly large one. They've increased his anticoagulant level to try and stop it from growing any more. The risk is if the clot breaks up it could get to his lungs and cause problems. He now has to be on Lovenox, an anticoagulant, for probably quite a few months to prevent the clot from growing and allowing his body to try and dissolve it. It has to be administered every day by injection so Tricia is not very excited about having to poke her little guy, but you gotta do what you gotta do unfortunately. On a higher note, all three of his chest tubes, the pacer wires, and his catheter were taken out earlier today and he should be off the ventilator sometime tomorrow. They've also increased the amount of milk he's getting and he's doing well with that. They also let Tricia hold him for the first time after his surgery today so she was very excited about that.

So glad that you were able to hold Hunter. Our prayers are with you daily for his continued recovery and that all will go well. Hopefully the clot will not be a problem. We love you.
