A new beginning

Hunter came out of surgery about 8pm this evening after about 6 hours in the OR. Dr. Kaza, his surgeon, said everything went very well and that Hunter was a "very tough kid". He is now back in the ICU being watched and monitored relentlessly. The next 24 hours are the most critical so Hunter is not out of the woods yet (thanks for that one dad). He is doing well though, and I'm sure, enjoying his new and improved heart. He is still on quite a few medications and has a ton of tubes and stuff coming out of him, but those should slowly disappear in the next few days.

We are happy to hear everything went well. Thanks for letting us know, I thought about it all day yesterday. Hope everything goes well and he just continues to thrive. It is great to know that we have a children's hospital here so close to us and that they have such a great reputation for doing miracles. So glad to hear Hunter is tough!
