A Scary Day

Not a fun day today. I had been in Montana for work the past week and was ready to come home today when I was awoken by a call on my cell. It was Tricia and she was in a panic. She was calling to let me know that she had found Madi laying face down and unconscious and blue in her room just a little bit after she had eaten breakfast and that they were taking her to the hospital. I did not enjoy the feeling of being so powerless to help my little girl. So Tricia and Madi have been here pretty much all day while I was stuck in Montana. I finally got home this afternoon. My family picked me up from the airport and drove me directly to the hospital. The doctors ran all these tests on Madi to find out what happened, but so far have come to no conclusions. All of the tests report Madi to be a healthy little girl. That's comforting, but not really. It's most likely that she was choking on some cereal, but Trish found her unconscious not even a minute after Madi had walked into her room. I just think that's really fast to choke on something and pass out, but I don't know. But we're all here sleeping in the hospital for the night so they can monitor Madi. In the morning they will do an EEG and then probably let us go home if everything seems normal still. Madi has been doing good though. She has been acting normal, just cranky with all the people continually poking and prodding her. I just wish I knew the exact cause of what happened and I wish I could have been here. Not fun at all.
